Amazon Pay can send a one-time verification code to your phone via text message.

Amazon Pay can call your phone and read out a verification code.
Authenticator app (TOTP)
Amazon Pay lets you use time-based one-time passwords, so you can generate verification codes in an authenticator app on your device — no network or SMS needed.
SMS or phone call required to enable 2FA. Enabling on Amazon.com activates 2FA on other regional Amazon sites, such as UK and DE.
