Interactive Brokers offers the following two-factor authentication options to help protect your account.
SMS
Interactive Brokers can send a one-time verification code to your phone via text message.
Proprietary app
Interactive Brokers offers its own companion app for approving sign-ins.
Hardware token
Interactive Brokers supports a dedicated hardware token for generating codes.
SMS 2FA only works as long as no other method has been enabled. Hardware 2FA is only available for certain customers.
